Theatre classes combine theory and practice to create well-rounded theatre experiences in acting, script analysis, stagecraft, and design.

Stage Voice and Movement

Stage Voice and Movement is a unique class that focuses on specific acting techniques designed to help students improve their performance skills.  Students learn breathing and projection techniques, as well as methods to improve their diction.  Students also learn about using their bodies on stage and in connection with other actors.

Acting

Acting gives students a method for expressing themselves on stage while studying scenes, monologues and improvisation.  Students receive dynamic instruction from a variety of guest artists in particular areas of performance.

Elements of Scenic Design

Elements of Scenic Design is a specialized class that takes the students through the design process of a theatrical production.  Students are then afforded the opportunity to have the designs actualized on stage.  Students study with professional scenic designers and scenic design university students.

Stage Crafts

Stage Crafts gives a variety of students the opportunity to practice construction and painting techniques while building scenery and props for the performances.

Play Reading

Play Reading provides the chance for students to read plays and analyze scripts.  This class helps students who read improve their abilities, and also gives students the skills necessary to explore theatrical elements of different scripted works.

Language Arts

Language Arts class provides students with the opportunity to read, write and communicate with each other.  Students study works of prose and poetry and have the chance to experiment with their own writing styles.
